The people you work with are the best you'll EVER meet. You're surrounded by culture - music, movies, games, whatever you're in to. You'll feel like you're part of a family. The discount is pretty cool (although you'll spend half your paycheck here if you're not careful)

Upper management is out of touch. If you're thinking this will be the idyllic record store job, think again. Even though this is a local family-run business, it's still a chain and definitely feels like it. There is little opportunity for advancement past shift leader, and the pay is insulting even if you make it. NO RAISES. The worst part is buybacks. A lot of people who are obviously selling stolen goods for drug money will come in. You get to watch them deteriorate over time AND hand them probably half of your paycheck EVERY NIGHT, as they sell the SAME NEW RELEASE products every single night. Nothing you can do about it, the company makes money off it.
