Pay is above average for this job and this area, It is easy to take time off if needed, The guaranteed minimum is nice, if you meet the criterea; Dillon is big on safety, which can also be a con; I get along well with most of the other drivers, dispatch, and management. Dental and vision are good and inexpensive.

Equipment is old, dirty, in bad shape, and frequently breaks down, which means you make less money. Dillon has recently bought new trucks, but they are already starting to break because no one takes care of them. The job is very physical, hot, and dirty with required PPE. The health insurance options are either a useless HSA or an extremely expensive option. Dillon is big on safety, which is usually a pro, but sometimes they go overboard to make things frustrating for the drivers. Dillon has taken very few COVID precautions - they initially were providing wipes to the drivers to wipe down the trucks, but have not been doing that for a while; they only put up signs requiring masks inside the building toward the end of 2020, but did not enforce this mandate; the locations in which we load have recently put up mask mandate signs, but drivers are not held accountable if they do not wear them; I am mostly in a truck, and do not have much interaction with other employees, and I always wear a mask, but the lack of basic precautions still makes me very uncomfortable.
