Pros

Good equipment. Nice DM's Got to take loads to Burning Man and got in for free due to that!! That was awesome.

Kontras

Paid by the load.. That's wage theft for sure. If you're held up at all boom! days ruined. Delay pay is after 2 hours and its $12 Hour. So you'd be lucky to average $10-$12 Hour and working 60+ hours a week. Not worth it at all.

Pros

Competitive pay and fair treatment Values employees and their time Great at teambuilding

Kontras

Office environment could be a bit catty at times, but no more so than any office with long staff tenures.

Pros

I’ve been with Devine for a year now. Making the switch to this company was the best decision I could have made. All trucks are new. The maintenance team are outstanding. If there is an issue with the truck they keep spare trucks just so we are able to work. This past winter I was trapped for 4 days on the wrong side of Donner Summit due to I-80 closure. Normally I’d just expect a low paycheck. There were about 15 of us trapped, living in our trucks for 3 days. The day after we finally got home the bossman calls me and tells me they are going to pay me for every hour. I assumed I’d have like an extra $100 on my paycheck. They paid all of us around $1000 for being trapped. I’ve never been paid for downtime in my 20 years. The bossman said the top guy at the company wanted us to be paid. I’ll never forget that. Drivers report to the safety guy, who is half our age and is the by far the best manager I’ve ever had. The guy answers his phone at 2:00 am. Has never denied me time off. The dispatchers know what they are doing. The maintenance guy at our terminal is Reno also half my age, and also answers his phone at 2:00 am. We run the port of Oakland. It ain’t easy, but I’d rather run hard for this company than do anything else. My truck is my truck. They let me bring my dog.

Kontras

Longshoreman, CalTrans, Bay Area drivers
