- massively overworked because they didn’t want to hire new people even when the workload got ridiculous - most of the managers were promoted by their friends and didn’t have the relevant experience to support their teams with professional development. They also had no real sense of strategy, adopting a one size fits all approach to every event - the pay was so low it was very demeaning, especially when you’re promoted, the pay rise is laughable. As was the yearly bonus that didn’t offer any explanation as to why you were ranked a certain way. - employees are discouraged from sharing information about bonuses, which was later revealed to be because some employees didn’t even get one when their colleagues did - there is a real culture of managerial ‘cliques’ and favouritism. If you are a yes man who is too scared to fight for what your team deserves, you will probably get promoted - no progression opportunities, most promotions are an excuse to give you more work without paying well for it - if you ask about progression and what you need to do to move up the ladder, you’ll most likely be palmed off with no real answers
