Pros

This company seemed like a great place to start a career in King County. It was a fun atmosphere that allowed you to work along side some extremely talented individuals.

Kontras

Management doesn't care/doesn't have a clue Sales teams look out for themselves and are allowed to draw up bogus contracts that can't possibly be met which force projects to go WAY over budget and scope Company can't keep employees or business Management doesn't care about employees People throw each other under the bus frequently

Pros

Decisive Data has a very laid back culture that encourages asking questions and learning. The obvious things like work from home policy, expected hours, dress code, work/life balance, etc. are laid back, but I also say laid back because I find that people are very understanding if you don't know something or make a mistake. We have all been there. DD also pushes employees to constantly be learning, which is great for finding new challenges and also building up your resume.

Kontras

Like any consulting company, there are a lot of moving parts - the client, the account manager, the SOW, the project manager, the resourcing team, the developers... We are only as strong as our weakest link. For example, if the project manager doesn't write up the hour estimates, then the resourcing manager will put you on more projects, then you're stretched too thin on those projects but committed to them because there is nobody else available, and you don't even like these projects because you wanted to practice a totally different skill in the first place. DD does their best to double check the processes to make sure the entire system is operating smoothly, but the reality is sometimes people can be on less-than-ideal projects for a variety of reasons. Additionally, though there are a TON of intangible benefits, everybody's looking at one tangible benefit - money. DD pays well considering its size, but if you are willing to sell your soul to a big corporation, you could find higher pay.
