I found my experience at Dataquest to be consistently chaotic due to poor leadership and frequent shifts in priorities. One week, the focus would be on improving early user experience, only to completely change direction the next. Projects were often rushed and never given enough time to mature.
What's even more concerning is the company's instability. Despite its small size, Dataquest would annually conduct massive layoffs without warning, typically in response to a brief financial downturn. In April 2023, the situation reached its peak when the company terminated almost all employees under the guise of preparing for a sale, which never materialized. Shortly after, new hires were brought on, further adding to the confusion.
Unless you thrive in an environment characterized by instability, drama, and lack of consistent leadership, I would advise against considering employment at Dataquest.
