Got to work with people from research and academia to attempt to solve real problems. Since we were distributed over the country, we met regularly via Skype, and then had several in-person meetings near the beginning and end.

The Skype-only meetings did sometimes make it a challenge when one of us was out of the country and the internet connection wasn't as stable.
