Pros

If you easily forget to put in your time on your time card, you will get reminders to help you not forget. Potluck functions are thrown every couple months and there will always be deviled eggs in case you missed them at the last potluck. You get to know the members on your team. Interns are constantly needed for cheap labor

If you remember to put your time on your time card everyday, you will still receive an @all message in the internal messaging system and then an email which is word for word the message sent in messaging system. Functions thrown at the main office generally exclude the people who are working on base. You only get to know the members on your team. Everyone else has headphones on and are in their own world. Def-Logix calls itself a cyber security company yet all the work done there is software development. They are spending all this money to get software developers security clearances when in reality none of these people will end up getting/having to use the clearance. Def-Logix does not have a billet code to even bid on cybersecurity contracts with the government. When starting with Def-Logix they have you fill out a new resume for them to submit on government bids. Some people have IT certifications while others do not. Those with IT certifications do not get any help from the company in renewing certifications or paying the annual fees. If you do choose to get an IT certification on your own, Def-Logix will reimburse you only after making you jump through countless hurdles to then have you sign a contract to stay with the company for 18 months. The company wants people with certifications to help them on future contracts they bid on but don't care to help you keep the certifications that allow them to get additional business. While it's true you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket, Def-Logix has it's eggs in so many baskets its impossible to even complete a single item. Their idea of coming up with commercial solutions to sell consists of them wanting to purchase a legitimate item for a few months to reverse engineer it to copy it and make their product just slightly better. Executive leadership like to reward those who do not question things or ideas they put forward. Coming back with constructive criticism seems to put you on a blacklist. Those who become favorites to the executive team are allowed to circumvent leads and project managers and skip the chain of command to report things directly back. This causes leads and project managers to not be in the loop for most things. While Def-Logix has a flexible work schedule for the main office, the employees on base are required to show up at a set time. Due to leads and project managers given a title with extra responsibility and no authority, there is nothing they can do to correct issues of punctuality. It is really hard to get any constructive help when faced with a difficult problem. Reaching out to senior technical personnel results in trash talking the work you are currently doing. The gist of the advice given is telling you to try harder. No room for growth or opportunities to do other work. IRA instead of 401k to save them money. PTO accrual is a joke when you get no holidays off.
