My experience with Custom Millwork & Design Group was not as expected. During the interview process I was given a written offer that included health benefits and a retirement plan. Once I reviewed the offer and sent a few questions regarding the benefits to HR I was told there was no company sponsored healthcare or a retirement plan. This should have been a red flag. There are no company standard operating procedures set in place. Everything is done on the fly with so many mistakes and everyone is always on edge. Decisions are made on a whim without any consideration for the impact on employees or customers. Custom Millwork and Design also has a very high turnover rate of employees. I decided CMD was not a good fit for me after 8 months and gave my written notice with the option that I would continue to work for the company for an additional 2 weeks. As I completed the first week of work the company withheld my previous weeks pay without warning or valid explanation and has refused to pay me for my last week of work.
