Where do I start... my tenure with Crowe didn't last long at all. Before I was hired I talked to numerous people that said it was great and that I'd love it. Prior to getting hired I was so excited about the job and even thought I'd be retiring at Crowe. My first couple of weeks were great for the most part. It wasn't until I went on my first business trip that I got to see what really goes on and how people really feel. The manager I worked with that week was the most negative person I've met in a long time. I didn't ask him to tell me all of the negative stuff about Crowe, he just blurted it out the entire business trip. This was my 3rd week on the job and a peer manager I'd be working side by side with had nothing good to say about Crowe. To say this was disheartening is an extreme understatement. We were working with an intern that same week as well and I got the chance to go to lunch with him. I asked the intern what he thought about Crowe and he said it's the worst experience he's had at a job. He told me several horror stories about managers being rude and unhelpful. There was even a manager that was making racial comments to another intern that was Latino/Hispanic asking if he was good at jumping fences and if his parents swam across the border. Being openly racist at work and getting away with it is horrible to say the least. The intern also said the managers gave him tons of work that he'd never done before and then got mad when he asked questions or didn't finish the work on time. I'm hearing all of this on my 3rd week of employment. My level of disappointment is off the charts. I was able to confirm the intern's story about the racist comments made by the managers and was also able to talk to other interns that had very similar experiences at Crowe. Why would Crowe treat interns terribly if you're grooming them to come work for Crowe? It's incredibly sad to hear this from more than 1 intern. I told the Sr Manager of my department about what I experienced and he said he was surprised and would deal with it when he got back from vacation. He left for vacation and I was left with a lot of questions and no answers. I tried asking another Sr Manager about the situation but they told me the other person is handling it and I'd have to wait until they returned from vacation. I spent the next week questioning my decision to work for Crowe. By the end of the week, I had more confirmation from various Crowe interns and employees about the negativity and the way people were being treated. I gave my notice on my 4th week of employment. So pitiful. I'm glad that I learned about all the bad aspects of Crowe before I spent a good portion of my career there. At least I can now move on to a much better opportunity with a company that treats their employees with respect. The craziest part of this entire thing is that Crowe somehow made it to the top 100 best places to work of the fortune 500. I guess the bar is low for all the fortune 500 companies or there was some sort of payment or incentive to say good things about the company. My experience was so heartbreaking, sad, disappointing, frustrating, and a waste of time for both me and Crowe.
