Good colleagues that care about their work and quality, and are always happy to share knowledge.

If you're going to be a member of their tech team be very wary as there's been a lot of redundancies in this department for the past 2 years at least, almost periodically. The drill is: - Management set a high target. - The company fails to hit it. - Panic and lay people off. - Keep repeating until there are only the co-founders left. When questioned about the constant high targets by an employee in an all hands company meeting, a co-founder replied "if we weren't optimistic then why the f*ck are we all here?", so much for company transparency. Well, the "optimism" doesn't seem to be working, what's left of the tech team won't be able to do barely any of the work that's lined up in anything like the timescale you want without sacrificing on quality, which will come to bite the company later down the line. This company has a runway, a lot of cash in the bank, I know that, it just chooses to lay people off.

Great benefits (desk beers, drinks, food provided, private health care, competitive pension) and fun team activities.

Kontras

Mixed bag for management; some great managers and some just not so great. Opportunities for career development were very dependent on the specific manager.

Pros

Crowdcube has a lot of genuinely great people - hardworking, supportive, and passionate about their work. There’s a good effort to bring people together through social events and team activities. Work–life balance is achievable in certain teams.

Kontras

The leadership team often displays unprofessional behaviour, and decision-making feels ego-driven rather than strategic. The company’s direction changes frequently, with flip-flopping on strategy each quarter as targets are missed. Staff turnover is very high, and departing team members are often not replaced, which puts a strain on the remaining team members. Pay is far below industry standards.
