The extra effort is always recognized and celebrated, but it could inadvertently validate overworking rather than flag an underlying resource allocation issue. Management is receptive to feedback and are taking measurable steps to improve this. If you set clear personal boundaries and communicate your capacity early, you’ll find that they are supportive of your success and long-term sustainability.

Overall, I had a great internship experience at Cortex Design. I had the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects and see them at different stages of development. Through this, I gained valuable experience in research, physical design, and digital design. The team fosters a very supportive work environment, with thoughtful colleagues and a strong, encouraging management team.

As my internship was limited to 10 hours per week, I didn’t encounter any cons.
