Pros

Fun, friendly atmosphere, great pay, great staff! I've been employed with Core for 4 months, and I can honestly say that I didn't know it was possible to enjoy going to work until I started here. I was reading some of these other reviews and they honestly boggle my mind. Right after I started, the pay structure was changed from a commission vs. salary draw system to an hourly base plus commission where you don't have to "pay money back" if you don't make commission. If you are a stand around and do nothing type of employee, this is NOT the position for you. You definitely get what you give at Core. There is a ton of opportunity for growth and they teach you everything you need to know to succeed. With the hourly base plus commission setup, I basically control my own paycheck. If I don't make enough money, it's nobody's fault but my own.

Kontras

Weekend work required, however those are the busiest days. I personally have had a Sunday where I did 5 sales. Making $500 in one day- I'LL TAKE IT!

Pros

-Self management -Great staff -Room for growth -No D2D or B2B -Not full on commission job Core is one of the most reputable marketing companies here in the Charlotte area. I never once felt mislead about the position from the beginning. For a sales and marketing position I am excited that this isn't a door to door position. DirecTV is a great service and everyone in the office is excited about the product and business model. I never realized that work could be such an enjoyable experience and am inspired everyday when I come to the office.

Kontras

-Working some weekends is involved.

Pros

None. There are really no pros to this job, unless you use it as a stepping stone for a better job as I did.

Kontras

Worked tons of hours, mostly 48-50+ a week and were only paid for 39.5 hours a week. They lie and tell you it's not a commission-only job, when in reality it's a clawback draw system. You're forced to work weekends. If you don't make sales, they cut your hours, thus your paycheck is cut and if you don't make it up on the weekend with sales, your hours are cut again. You have to consistently outsale your weekly pay or you owe Justin money. I was paid 10/hr and you're paid 100/install, thus if you don't land 4 installs, whatever the difference between how much of the check is "your" money and what you're paid you owe back. Keep this up and your draw grows larger. If your draw is huge, say 8-900 dollars, even if you sell 700 dollars worth one week, you're still paid what you made before, as the rest goes towards paying back your draw. I worked here for a little over 2 months. I gained nothing professionally and within a month was hired by a real company with real pay, benefits, and professional growth opportunity. In fact, it's one of Forbe's top 100 companies to work for. They hire any and everyone and have a high turnover. I made 395 a week by working around 45-50 hours, and that was gross. Essentially I was making 1200/month. I now make roughly 3100/month gross with just base pay, not including overtime. Stay far, far away from this company.
