Pros
The thing that stands out the most is how much Conversion care about their team. Firstly, I’ve seen them bend over backwards to support people with their own career goals. For example, I wanted to gain line management experience and they did everything they could to help me get there - providing me coaching training + creating the opportunity for me to line manage a junior, before building up my experience with a whole team. Other examples are how they’ve supported other team members to invest their time into developing new products they were passionate about, or working on clients in particular industries they want to pursue. When there have been personal challenges in peoples’ lives, the People team are incredible at providing support, so personable and caring. Ultimately it feels like the management team just want people to be happy and reach their goals. They are open to feedback and change as well, so you can feel safe to raise something if there is a problem. When I first joined Conversion as a Senior Consultant I was instantly struck by how advanced they were in experimentation compared to other places I’ve worked. Suddenly I had frameworks, structures and processes in place that made everything easier and meant I could focus on the fun part, rather than the admin and back & forth you can find yourself doing in other places. It meant my learning was massively accelerated the instant I joined and I was up doing presentations for big clients and enabled to lead strategies really quickly, while still feeling really supported behind the scenes. A massive part of Conversion’s success is down to the talented people they hire - everyone is super bright and ambitious and wanting to continually improve and explore what can be done next! They also have a really cool portfolio of clients so I was able to work across industries like charity, food delivery, retail & travel from day 1, which meant things never got boring and I learnt so much by working across multiple industries at the same time.
Kontras
In the past they've tried to focus on too many things at once meaning that initiatives take longer than planned - something they've definitely tried to improve over time!
