An amazing product suite and value prop wasted by megalomania, delusion of grandeur and (currently)inept leadership. - Mitarbeiter (anonym) bei Conga: Mitarbeiterbewertung

Pros

A truly compelling vision and product suite in the self-defined space of middle-office. Great first impressions with prospects, SIs and partners alike. Growing TAM and compliancy needs in the Enterprises space make this a great proposition.

Kontras

A very healthy and steady growth with black numbers might have triggered some overly ambitious and precocious plans to branch out to other platforms than the one that made Apttus to begin with; salesforce.com. Whilst sensible strategically, it has led to greatly impact some of the the 4 P's to it's limits. Product wise the core product and platform (SFDC) is losing ground rapidly in terms of new capabilities and updates as Dev team is struggling to develop new platform capabilities whilst staying relevant and innovative on the platform that built Apttus to begin with and, to date, remains the main provider of pipeline/revenue. People; probably the most impacted as the previous sales leadership team that brought consistent success has been decapitated unceremoniously by new COO and his acolytes who are great advocates of Trump-like leadership (think " blind loyalty") and short of experience in our field. The sales leadership bloodletting was followed by a substantial unwanted attrition by great talents who are experiencing similar frustrations of an opportunity seemingly wasted at Apttus. The appointment moths ago of a Chief People officer with the given nickname "pink slip", confirmed and matched by truly ghastly behaviour and communications, was a substantial red flag.... T The guy literally boasted about letting go of 500k people throughout his career during a conversation.... Price/Value ; Whilst celebrated in analyst reports, the same analysts also accurately depict an underlying problem and tendency at Apttus, perpetuated by enabling and empowering some individuals, of overselling and under-delivering which is cardinal sin in Enterprise SW sales and certainly in a pioneered space like middle office. Honesty goes further than posturing on the long run.... Process; another major growing pain (in any fast growing company) and further compounded by constant leadership and strategy changes. This has historically led to poor execution (eg we were told 4 weeks into our last quarter (!!) that we would switch CRM tools in the last month of the Fiscal Year - which was then cancelled 2 days later....if ever there was an example of shooting from the hip...). This is currently being "seriously" addressed by going in the opposite direction ie micro-management (tracking every single call/mail etc...) through a plethora of different/new tools.

Although our viewpoints differ, I want to thank you for your feedback, as we are all entitled to share from our own perspective and experiences. It also gives me an opportunity for me to provide some transparency on where we are as an organization. Apttus closed out a very impressive last fiscal year. The company is performing well, as supported by the most credible analyst firms across our industry. Our attrition trends are down and we continue to attract and recruit some of the best and brightest in our industry. As I always say though, there is more work to do in many areas. All startups will go through their share of changes in people, processes, and technology, based on both the needs of customers and the market, as well as where the strengths of the business and technology lie. Bringing in new leaders at pivotal points for the business is part of the strategy to grow and align our various business units and regions. Our leadership team is well aligned and committed to the success of our company and our employees as individuals. As the leader of our people strategy for the company, my primary concern is the wellbeing of our employees and their development. We do and will continue to have a strong commitment to developing Top Talent and giving them opportunities that strengthen their skills and prepare them for their next challenge. We have created a Women’s Network, developed site councils, implemented Workday and instituted 9-box ratings and goal setting that will allow employees to grow their skills and careers more precisely. There is more work to do and we will be launching an internal intranet in the next few months to provide even more access and information to our people. We are more excited than ever about the direction of the company. I am not going to address some of your points, other than to say I don’t believe they are factually accurate, but as I said I always respect that people might have different points of views. I would welcome the opportunity anytime to speak and address any concerns you have. I wish you well in the future and hope you find what you are looking for.

Pros

Great people across teams who genuinely care about their work and each other. Prior to the acquisition, the company had a strong sense of community, collaboration, and purpose. Many employees were highly skilled, supportive, and committed to doing meaningful work despite increasing uncertainty.

Kontras

The handling of layoffs was deeply disappointing and lacking basic humanity. Employees were not given time to process, say goodbyes, or acknowledge what was happening. Communication was rushed, controlled, and intentionally vague. People were discouraged from speaking openly or sharing their experiences, creating a culture of fear and secrecy. Since the acquisition of PROS, transparency has been virtually nonexistent. Leadership repeatedly claimed they “didn’t know” what would happen, while it was clear decisions had already been made. Morale is the lowest it has ever been, trust in leadership is broken, and psychological safety no longer exists.
