Kontras
This job offers a straightforward interview process and quick decisions, but quickly becomes overwhelming once you're hired. The training is minimal—only 1-2 days before you're expected to be on your own—which leaves you feeling unprepared. Despite promises of minimal micromanagement, you're required to report every movement and adhere to strict schedules, making work-life balance challenging. The commute is taxing, with travel across Northern California to cities like Stockton, Sacramento, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Fresno, and Bakersfield, all grouped under the misleading title “Stockton areas.” The demanding client load leaves little time for documentation, and there’s poor communication about equipment and paperwork. If you’re over on time, they may call you and tell you to clock out while you're still on route. There is also no quality time to actually help and support clients. With strict oversight, disorganization, and unrealistic expectations, the pay may not even cover the travel costs. Originally, this position paid $24-$26, but I helped negotiate it to $28. If you do accept an offer, I’d recommend negotiating pay. Overall, this job isn't recommended for those seeking stability or a manageable workload.
