Pros
This is a growing company with lots of opportunities. Employees start as event managers. It's a challenging role but you learn so much about work ethic, problem solving, teamwork and leadership. It's a great start for any career. The Senior Staff is always implementing new incentives, rewards and employee outings. The owners are right there beside you working hard every day, either in the office or out on the event site. They promote a lot of women into management roles and the employee culture is really diverse with entry level event managers coming from all over the country to work with this company. The full time employees are a tight knit group and everyone is pretty supportive of each other. You are asked for your feedback all the time so you really feel like you have an opportunity to make suggestions and contribute to changes and improvements.
Kontras
Lots of travel required, which many people love but it can be challenging to keep up with. Events are live entertainment and the show must go on. You have to be willing to role up your sleeves and dig in. This is not a place to work if you aren't willing to give 110%. Everyone who works here is really busy. It's very fast-paced and you have to keep up.
