Pros

Hardworking, passionate and dedicated staff members, great benefits. The culture used to be great and inspiring.

The best and hardworking employees get treated like they are worth less. No matter all the hard work, dedication and effort that you put in, if they don't like you or if you are not part of their agenda, then don't expect to grow. This nonprofit used to be a great organization. Unfortunately, Senior Management, especially the CEO and the CFO have changed it all. During my tenure, I got to see many great employees get booted out. Poor employee morale, employees feeling unappreciated. You can't trust management, they won't ever have your back!

Pros

The organization is like a big family. Supervisors and Managers are very understanding. They have great benefits and a good work/life balance. CHW has great HR support and does great work throughout California.

Kontras

It is sometimes hard to grow professionally.

- Every other Friday Off - Unlimited Time Off within reason - Most Holidays are recognized by the company

- Leadership has a huge disconnect with employees regarding communication, workload, compensation, and expectations. - Employees are often expected to wear more than one hat for their position. In most cases, you are wearing 5 hats other than the position you were hired for. - Management doesn't respect IT's professional expertise and second-guesses everything that is planned. - The COO & VP of HR collude together against people they don't like and move them out of the organization. - The IT Director doesn't sit at the Executive-level Leadership table to be involved in key business decisions. - Decisions on technology in other areas of the company are often made outside of IT's purview. - The company feedback survey from employees isn't respected by leadership, and changes that are recommended aren't acted on. - No upward mobility for the IT Department leader or direct reports are respected.
