Management is an old boys' club. VPs, GMs, DOS' and even LSMs are hyper-focused on metrics and have not a clue how AE sales tools work/have not made a pitch in 15+ years. On a national level, the company is tirelessly working to be more innovative and level up with giants like Google, FB, etc. On a local level, there is a disconnect. Boys club management spews nonsense about products with no understanding of the capabilities. They run the show like they always have, don't have any up-to-date industry knowledge, and flinch at the mention of having to put in extra work. These same managers are ones who are primarily responsible for training new hires (also seen as the future of the company). Not good. With local management being generally incompetent and sales support understaffed, AEs are required to wear several hats. Oh, but don't be one to raise a concern about how things are operating or you'll be given a 45-minute lecture from your manager who will invalidate your experience as an AE and ramble on about how successful they were selling newspaper ads in 1983.
