CAPS Central is a student centered school where the teacher morale is incredibly high. This is attributed to the incredible success students are having at College Achieve. Test scores in reading are particularly impressive in the middle and high school. Eighty nine percent of 9th graders were proficient in ELA, and 55% of 9th graders were proficient in Algebra 1 - closing the achievement gap and best the state by a long shot. The school's mission is college graduation for all. One of the cool programs they have is Summer Of A Lifetime (SOAL) where students attend 1 to 3 week programs at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Rutgers, NJIT, St. Elizabeth, Colby, and even overseas. Students have attended Oxford University, University of Paris, Barcelona, Tokyo, and Siena (Tuscany). Guess what? Teachers and staff members get to go as chaperones. Students graduating from CAPS Central have been admitted to Harvard, Princeton, UPENN, NYU, Rutgers, Howard, Morehouse, and NJIT. The teachers are getting better every year, as they are committed to their own professional development. The same can be said of the Principals and the Executive Director.

As no public dollars are available to College Achieve for new facilities, the school must do what it can with renovating older school buildings, office buildings, and financing new construction. That said, the schools are clean and well maintained, and all three campuses have a gym.
