My role as a backend engineer for the FAC product exposed glaring deficiencies in the company's management of its tech team. While the company claimed to adopt microservices architecture, the absence of CI/CD practices undermined this approach. In my four-month tenure, I never had a meaningful one-on-one session with my manager to address challenges or receive guidance. The company prioritized meeting project deadlines over fostering a supportive work environment, leading to a culture where quantity was favored over quality. Additionally, the appraisal process was deeply flawed, with employees undergoing evaluations by managers they rarely interacted with throughout the year, resulting in absurd and demoralizing outcomes. Overall, my experience at this IT company was marred by a lack of integrity in its management practices, ultimately diminishing the potential for professional growth and fulfillment.
