Artists beware! They pull all the most common tricks to get you to give up finished art without paying you. First they'll try to get you to sign a contract where they only pay after delivery (never do that!). If you insist on 50% upfront, they will over and over give you excuses for why they haven't paid yet. They'll miss their deadlines and blame it on you. They will pressure you into working while you wait for the down payment and at the end of the contract they will try to pressure you into giving them art without paying, acting like you're unreasonable if you don't. I personally got stringed along until the last step. I wasn't dumb enough to give them the art.
