Our customers are constantly developing new products, and you get to see those long before they're exposed to the general public. The projects are short in duration (weeks not years) and of great variety, which keeps the job from getting boring. Fellow employees are smart and personable. The more relaxed environment and the "smallness" of the business is a great environment for those that don't need a rigid structure to enjoy their job. Hiring decision for the management team are suspect. Way too many "friends and family" in positions that should have been filled with qualified managers. That results in people that have questionable alliances, and little skill in managing people. Caustic us vs. them environment with regards to management. Even the best employees become jaded after some time, because of the seemingly random decisions being made by management.
