Pros

Free food, Tuition reimbursement and or even all paid degrees on select majors, Opportunities for job growth, 3 paid sick days, great co workers.

Kontras

Can be a very stressful environment. Online orders don’t have a true limit and go by increments of 10mins and within those 10mins you can expect 15-20 orders to come in that are all due at the same time. While simultaneously getting orders that come in at the half way mark due at the same time and receiving the next batch of orders for the following 10mins. Short staffed and expect to fulfill a two person job all by yourself. Raises are generally very small .10-.25 cents. Breaks aren’t always a thing especially for managers. No flexible scheduling as they claim, Service Managers at my location are strictly only allowed to work at night. FL’s can be very nasty people will call you out on the spot and don’t listen to their team. Faulty POS system constantly crashing and nothing much you can do on your end other than call IT and hope they can get it up and running within 5mins before customers start going berserk. Company constantly pushes promos such as BOGOs and free queso or guac with purchase knowing many of their restaurants are short staffed. High turnover rate for the same reason it gets incredibly hectic and being short staffed doesn’t help. Mentally draining and unfortunately this job doesn’t offer any well-being days. Working here has definitely given me some anxiety and depression.

Pros

Somewhat easy to pick up short term work, and depending on the location co-workers can be cool. The free meals are also pretty good, and there is a significant employee discount usually.

Kontras

Extremely inconsistent experience between stores. One store I worked at had a really chill manager, while other ones would have management that made the experience absolutely miserable. I had one store that "unofficially" hired me for 18 hours one week and then refused to pay me for those hours, so I guess make absolute sure that all of your hours are recorded in their system. Because portions aren't standardized very well, a significant amount of customers will be angry at you if you don't give enough food, or if you give too much food your manager will yell at you. The fact that the food is made in front of the customer leads to significantly more negative customer interactions. If you do work at a Chipotle, make absolute sure it is one that isn't very busy, as it can be the difference between a relatively chill job and a stressful nightmare.
