Pros

There are some pros that in the end will be the cons, and trust me, you will have a big headache unless if you are already prepared for it. - First, they will pay you an official salary and 20% of your salary in benefits in some kind of insurance which will charge you 1% of the amount left every month. Yes, they don't pay 100% of your salary as they should do. This way they will pay fewer taxes. - They offer you benefits for example as a rented Car... "It's a trap". You take the car, they will pay for everything in your car, but when you leave the company and you have to give it back to the company, you have to expect to pay at least 1.000 euros in the repair of the car because they will charge you for every single, micro scratch on the paint of the car. - If they hire you from another country to come to Portugal (in my case), they will pay for everything. "Another trap". You have to sign a contract with them for 2 years. If you leave the company within these 2 years, you have to pay them back. Even if you leave one month before the end of this contract, you'll have to pay the whole amount, without a discount. And from my experience, I saw a lot of people leaving this company in less than a year, even 6 months. The rotation of people is big.

Kontras

- Very unorganized company. - They don't have well defined and organized projects. - You feel like your superiors are not prepared for their roles. - Sometimes you have to stay on the bench waiting for a project, and it takes more than 3 months. - They don't care about the quality of the product. They just want to deliver it to the client and get the money from them. - They use the oldest tech stack, mostly because all projects are inherited from third party companies and they don't care to do a refactoring like change architecture or technologies. - They will put you to work on what they want you to work. If you are an Android developer, but they need someone to work in a web project, they will put you to work there. - Most part of the job, you feel like you're a firefighter. A lot of problems come out sometimes due to the unorganized projects in terms of estimation, tasks, code, technologies, etc. - They apply some kind of evaluation of your performance every 6 months, using a really bad metric in my opinion (and also the opinion of some colleagues). In the end, you receive feedback from your manager or team leader which doesn't make any sense. It seems that they are like robots programmed to say some words already prepared. - Very unclear career path. - Very big rotation of people. Even from roles like director, managers, etc. I don't think it worth wasting your time working with this company unless if you are really needing it. After some time, you'll see your career stuck because they don't have and they don't care about new technologies, techniques, methodologies, etc. They just want you to do what they want, and that's it. No quality, no organized, process not well defined.

Pros

- Standard benefits - Depending on the team you're on, can be a relatively easygoing environment - Ample vacation time, generally readily approved

Kontras

- Far, FAR below market wage - No yearly raises or even discussion. With inflation, I'm making less now than I did previously. - Zero room for advancement (see below) - You can be a superstar for the client but that translates into no actual benefits pay or promotion wise at Capgemini - they're entirely unrelated. - My manager basically forgot I exist for over a year which means no discussion about performance, promotion, raises, etc - Opaque processes around pay, promotion, etc - Come here if you want your career and paycheck to stagnate and die - Zero appreciation or acknowledgement from the Capgemini team with the client - there's no carrot and stick, just the stick. No real reason to go above and beyond.
