From my keen observation what management considers "top performers" in this company are really the biggest suck ups. As with any other company the real cream tends to stay silent and focus on work rather than use all their energy in sucking up and flaunting their half baked knowledge. And management likes that. They don't have the level of expertise needed to look at what everyone is doing exactly but they just go by who talks the most and the loudest.
