- no mentorship or guidance - no benefits - compensation isn't horrible but becomes bad because they give you so little shifts - might always have to work late depending on your role in the newsroom...seems like claiming overtime "too much" (even when you actually stay for legit reasons) is frowned upon - very poor internal communication, no transparency with staff - will call you at 7am asking you to take a 7:30am shift on the same day, which is ridiculous - very little feedback. They say usually if you don't hear anything, they say that's "good", but they also lose out on chances to support and encourage employees when they do a good job - lots of favouritism - lots of gossip - the list goes on...
