Pros

Diversity - Working with diverse people in the community and the office Growth - Company is growing and continuously training site staff to better help the people we serve. Flexible - Management team is patient and flexible Focused - The company is focused on the people we serve. They help us learn how to work with each other and those in the community offering training on Trauma Informed and Person Centered Care. This has even proven helpful in my personal life. Benefits - Health and Dental coverage are always a PRO. Work Life Balance - In contrast with other companies I have worked for, CPES has been great about balancing out career and personal life, allowing for time to actually take earned vacations and holidays. I really appreciate being able to be home for dinner with my husband.

Kontras

Communication - Not a Con - but a room to grow area. Communication is not always timely or unfiltered which allows the "negative nancies" in the office create their own information to "fill in the blanks" Feedback/Performance Reviews- we are so busy and focused on getting our jobs done that we don't often receive feedback unless we have issues to correct. Timely feedback, good or bad would be helpful.

Pros

I enjoyed having a flexible schedule as a licensing worker with CPES. There's not a lot of micro-management that occurs here. This was my first job out of college, so you don't need a lot of experience to get in the door.

Kontras

There is *zero* formalized training offered by CPES that goes along with this position. It's very much "sink or swim"; I had to learn as I went. My immediate supervisor didn't know how to perform 90% of my job functions--he had to defer me to other people with my job title who had been there longer than I had. It makes no sense to me that a program manager should be able to supervise employees (and make more money than them) while not understanding the functions of the job. By the end of my three and a half years here, he was asking me how to do aspects of HIS job. Upper management has very little understanding of how to run a business and keep employees happy. High turnover. Company has poor management skills and poor financial success.
