9ySo, I normally would not comment on a defamatory remark made anonymously on the internet as I believe the character of someone who would do such a thing like that doesn't warrant me wasting time on a reply. However, I believe there are some great things that can be said from this review and I am a true believer in turning lemons into lemonade.
First, the moment this was brought to my attention by an employee I got everyone in the conference room to discuss it (without me present), they then called me back in the room and said they all felt strongly this was not posted by a current employee but by a former employee terminated because he was not CONNECT material.
So what does it mean to be CONNECT material? It means that you are someone who doesn't help people for your job, you do because it is part of who you are. Everyone at CONNECT is passionate about helping people and we do so through IT. We do have highly skilled workers but their real strengths are that they are some of the most passionate people you will ever meet. They are passionate about helping our clients, thereby making our clients a success which in turn makes CONNECT a success.
I would agree on the salary comment, as I do not recruit my employees based on a salary or paycheck. I recruit them based on their passion for what we do and who we are. An employee buys into the culture of CONNECT, the family of CONNECT, and is here because they believe in what we believe, not because they are getting paid a high amount of money to be here. I will however state that we have many perks like a matching 401K program, we pay 70% of insurance for the employee AND their dependents, and we have an open vacation policy, you need time, you take it, 2 weeks, 8 weeks, whatever you need. We are family at CONNECT and we will do whatever is necessary for each other, especially in times of personal strife.
As for the allegations against me, I can only say that I am a Division 1, Big East Champion, and you don't get to that level without demanding excellence of yourself and of the people on your team. I have 24 family members at CONNECT, depending on me for their livelihood and to provide for their own families, and I will not allow repetitive mistakes or procedures to be ignored without confronting them, because inability to do your job affects the rest of the team and everyone must pull their weight at CONNECT. Sometimes I yell and pound my hand on the table, I have never met a successful coach that doesn't yell sometimes. However, when someone does a good job, I am also the first person to commend them and share it with the entire team. I started a monthly award called the Impact Player award to celebrate the extraordinary contributions of an employee each month. I could go on and on, but I do not feel the need to, my employees and the countless numbers of referrals from employees tells me everything I need to know. I am honored to come to work every day surrounded by the incredible team we all have created...and I can promise you, many of them are MUCH smarter than me. I believe a strong leader surrounds themselves by people smarter than themselves and I have NO doubt that that is what I have done at CONNECT.
Lastly, the claim about our clients not being secure is completely false and I do not feel any need to address it beyond stating that.
