The CEO often makes erratic decisions and has involved staff in his personal side projects (family business) unrelated to the company’s mission. This, combined with poor leadership, can create a toxic and demoralizing work environment. Although an HR department is now in place, it primarily serves the interests of the CEO rather than acting as an advocate for employees.
