We do indeed consider CERN's workforce to consist of some of the most intelligent and motivated researchers in the world so we take great pride in our employees and the ever-changing and active work environment they help create. CERN was established in 1954 and has been developing ever since so renovating and improving the infrastructure on a site of this scale is one of our main concerns. At CERN, there are annual performance evaluations for all employees that could and have in the past resulted in one's termination of contract when justly decided so.
