Pros

Relaxed atmosphere- how could it not be? Sub-Contracted crews, especially for framing and concrete were great. They laid me off instead of firing me for having surgery... I guess I’ll take it!

Kontras

Dishonesty and unprofessional behavior. Management speaking inappropriately about clients and other employees and breeding the same culture through the staff. Men were certainly superior in the company culture. Getting laid off two weeks into medical leave under the guise that a department that had nothing to do with my duties was being eliminated leaving me without health insurance and COBRA that would have been as expensive as my mortgage payment.

Pros

I have over 43 years of building construction experience and am working for them on a part-time basis in the office. I have found the current employees and owners of this company to be very engaged, knowledgeable and customer focused. Their quality and attention to detail is surpassed only by their desire to make the customer happy.

Kontras

If there is one, it is that they have an abundant amount of orders currently, yet are able to provide their customers with quick, dependable delivery and service.

Pros

Absolutely none, they have no idea how to operate a construction company. There is no CARING for the employees or the customer. CEO is totally clueless.

CEO and upper management know nothing about running a construction company. They lie to their employees and will fire anyone at a moments notice. Its all about pleasing the four 'Owners" and showing profits, even when profits don't exist. Worst work mistake I have ever made. I left a great job to work there and ended up being denied unemployment benefits because they lie.

We are sorry this person feels upset. We certainly understand someone venting after they have just lost their job. However, sometimes people cannot perform for what they would have been hired to accomplish and a judgment is made to depart ways. It is always a gut wrenching decision and one that is not made without multiple attempts to rectify the performance issues and then only after many conversations with management personnel. C B Structures has never in the past, nor will we in the future, terminate anyone at a moment’s notice as is claimed. Indeed, we consider a loss of a job a major negative significant life event and absolutely understand the stress and financial turmoil it can cause. However, if a person does not perform and all efforts failed to correct the issues, it would not be fair to those who work so hard and successfully complete their own job charters. In addition, in order to set the record straight, the claim that we do not care about employees is ridiculous. Also to suggest that we lied so this person could not get unemployment benefits is unfounded. Keep in mind a person does not qualify for unemployment compensation for only two reasons 1) they quit on their own or 2) they committed an act against public policy (i.e. theft etc) in which case they have the right to appeal and the burden of proof is on the company. If this person was denied unemployment benefits and he or she claims we lied then why no appeal. Finally, we do not have four owners as mentioned and we have been profitable for more years that I can remember. Our records are examined each year by Certified Public Accountants and we get a clean bill of health every year One final comment, just because we have terminated an individual does not mean they are not a capable person. The job they held may have been the wrong seat on the bus sort to speak and the correct seat was not available within the company. However, we encourage this individual to seek opportunities where it is the correct seat on the bus. Our advice is to give it a funeral, learn from it, and move on to the future which can be controllable.
