Pros

As an international development private contracting company, it was great experience to work with USAID's Bureau for Global Health through Camris International. Cameris encouraged learning and development and offered a small employee development sum. Benefits were good with a great 401K package.

If you work for Camris under one of their contracts it can be hard to navigate an upward career trajectory. This is because you technically work for (get paid) by the contracted company (Camris); however, your work/deliverables and office relationships are carried out and formed within the contracting entity (like USAID). It was not uncommon to see or hear of conflicting information between both sides when an employee wanted to discuss career growth. Connected to this issue was the fact that Camris appeared overly beholden, in almost every sense, to the contracting entity, and (in my opinion) this allowed for the contracting entity to exert high levels of pressure on Camris, which could both be beneficial and harmful to Camris employees at times.

I’ve been with CAMRIS for several years and have advanced into a leadership position. Throughout my time with CAMRIS, I’ve consistently felt supported and encouraged to grow. CAMRIS's benefits are competitive and comprehensive. Leadership is accessible and open to feedback, and I’ve always felt that my voice matters. The work is meaningful. It's been an honor to work for a company supporting public health, research, and development programs that have real-world impact in the U.S. and globally.

Pros

No pros - they keep getting rid of people without good reasons. So, you need to watch your back.

Kontras

Terrible management of their contract. Do not listen to their employees or provide support. Rude to their employees.
