Pros
Great experience to have and name to put on resume. Location is convenient as right in the middle of midtown, lots of subway and lunch options. CACIB also has a cafeteria inside the building that is cheaper than going out for lunch- food is decent (cash only). Very fast paced which can help the day go by faster. Updates to the older offices to look more modern. Competitive pay and OT if non-exempt. OT kicks in after 35hrs per week, instead of the traditional 40 hrs. 1 hour lunch break. 6 sick days, 15 days of paid vacation and you can roll over unused days to following year. Business attire M-Th and casual attires fridays. Not sure about bonuses and raises as I left the bank before March which is when they give bonuses. 401k is matched up to 6% but you need to stay with firm for at least 3 years, if you leave before then you cant take employer contributions with you. Health Benefits are very expensive unless you take the cheaper option, didn't go to the doctor while I was employed there so not sure end costs. Work life balance is good as long as you take matters into your own hands. Make sure to arrive on time and leave as soon as your shift is over from the beginning of employment and take your hour lunch outside of the office. Once you start eating at your desk and staying late, they will always expect you to do that and stay late.
Kontras
Small cons...No cellphones allowed on trading floor, have to get up and go to hallway to use phone. Almost every website is blocked on the internet.. Constant employee training modules to complete, if don't complete you will get a personal visit to scold you for not completing. Lots of chain of command, if you want one issue fixed or program downloaded you need to submit a ticket on a confusing module and wait for 5+ people to review your request. Lots of emails, possibly 100+ emails to respond to a day. Background check is completed AFTER your start date and HR harasses you for any discrepancy in employment dates etc. Make sure your resume is accurate bc they treat it as a legal document! Cameras everywhere besides bathroom.
