Short sighted management only interested in highly optimizing broken workflows rather than addressing the heart of the issue. You are a cog in a machine. You are on an assembly line. You don't matter to the company. Only adherence to the broken corporate policy matters. Some have said it's a culture of debate allowing input from individuals. Internally it had been called a meritocracy. Really it's a culture of shared ignorance playing a game of arguing about things that don't matter and feeling like they've accomplished something when nothing changes.
