I’m so happy and fortunate for my time at Brooksource Milwaukee. I joined right after graduation and throughout my 2 years there, I received multiple promotions, grew professionally and personally, and made a lasting group of friends with my co-workers and contractors. At just 2 years out of college, I was presenting our service offerings to C-level executives at Fortune 500 organizations in Wisconsin. I don’t know many other companies where I would have gotten amazing opportunities and exposure like that. The growth potential is one of the main reasons that I loved Brooksource. I voiced an interest in a certain area of the business, focusing on students in IT, and I was able to take on that role a year in to my time there. The Market Directors of each office truly want the best for their market and are hands-on in every part of training, recruiting, and sales. The best part of my job is that I was trusted with, and had the freedom to run my desk and my recruiting how I wanted, but I had an amazing support system from my market director, regional sales and recruiting, and colleagues in other markets. If you’ve ever been interested in recruiting, sales, or even want to explore the IT industry, Brooksource is the best in the business and will be a wonderful next step in your career.

The reason I left is just unfortunately the IT Staffing industry just wasn’t for me. There can be ups and downs in business and the emotional rollercoaster had me a little exhausted.

This company relies on growth from within, so if they see potential in you, they will help you get to that next level. There is always a huge support system around you at all times.

The amount of support can quickly turn into micromanaging, and promoting from within is great until you start protecting those who earned their title sheerly through tenure or a 'good ol' boy' system. Also, the pay is abysmal. They pay you the absolute minimum in salary and the rest is based off of commission, so even the best reps can lose everything on a clients whim, going from making almost $200K a year to $30K in the blink of an eye. They say they have protections in place for that but that's only for the people who earn the company millions of dollars for 4 consecutive years. Also, there really is no such time as a work/life balance here. They throw parties to make you think you do, but if you are out on PTO you will still be judged by your KPI's while you were out, and they expect you to pick up the phone, regardless of if you are on vacation or at your grandfathers funeral. "Still gotta keep you numbers up!"
