The compensation can be very good if you are successful. The company moves quickly in new directions (or at least it used to). Buys cutting edge technology, handles mergers well.
Kontras
high pressure everywhere - bad work life balance. Some divisions have good management other divisions use you and spit you out. Some old boy networks - depends on division. Occasionally buys companies for the wrong reason or too much money and gets burned.
