-Given no true support or guidance. You're left on your own to reverse engineer and figure things out by yourself. You will spend countless hours reviewing previous poorly written code. - I am an angular developer and was told when I was hired I would be doing front end. That was the first lie. It never happened. Instead they had me working on backend code. Anytime I made changes to the backend code their senior developer criticized me. I thought maybe this is because he wants to help me grow as a developer. Not true. Then they switched me to another project, I asked for permission to make changes and was denied. Then they said on a Friday you need to fix your lifecycle development code style. I then asked....am I at risk for being fired? I talked to my friend and she immediately was like you need to tell them where is my 90 day notice my coaching sessions? She was like they can't put that on you out of the blue. So I started asking all of that. Then I took my first vacation in the first 2 years of working there. Getting back from vacation they fired me on Monday. So that was all a flat out lie that I was not at risk for being fired. Clearly I was. What sucks is I am very transparent and respectful. It was very cold hearted to fire me. I have a 9 year old son who is in the process of serious medical treatment he got very sick. I don't share details like my kids medical information with people none of their business. But when I told that to the lady who fired me...she was all positive and cheerful. If you're gonna fire someone whose kid is sick at least act sympathetic. It makes you look like you lack empathy and maybe she did. But I don't think you can run a company like that be successful. Because it is not treating people well.
