Two owners and one doesnt even know how to do the job himself despite being trained by corporate. [Owner B.A.] Male employees actively speak about sexual things and even joke about wanting to be initimate with their cousins. Lack of oversight by management leads new hires to have no initiative to learn job thoroughly. Any conflict between employees &management does not help mediate, then will tease whoever target was during conflict with other employees even after things have moved on. Specific employee makes several racial jokes or generalizations to new hires whenever he thinks they are native. Management will express who they hope will quit to other employees but will never fire anybody who is actually BAD at the job. Jokes from management about how business is just a tax haven. VERY high employee turnover, I worked there for under a year and I trained 5 different people, only two stayed by the time I left. Mixer position also has high turnover. Baker has mental health and drug problems that frequently interfered with his work yet is given priority to baker shift even if other employees show interest in being trained as Baker. He's a sweet guy but there are no boundaries set. Production area not always clean after retail shift ended, excuse was that retail was older women who have hard time doing the clean up throughly so production was responsible for it. When someone calls out, management visibly and verbally annoyed they had to come in to cover Staff gets very clique-ish and actively try to make other employees uncomfortable/ will bet on how long someone will last in position. SO. MUCH. FOOD WASTE. We threw out so much bread that could be donated to shelters. You WILL burn out at this job. It is hard to ask for time off and there are no designated break times and management gets annoyed if you are just "standing still." I know a lot of these cons are on par for food industry but its such a small location and not a good look for Breadsmith company as a whole.
