Kontras
BT loses their best employees due to a lack of focus. They hire too many VP's and not enough hands-on managers to assist the people actually doing all of the work. College-hire's are paid (as entry level employees) more than many who have been with the company for years. Sales teams are more like call centers. My team went without a manager for ages and then cycled through multiple managers, none of whom stuck. My team was overloaded with clients and never had enough staff to make a reasonable workload for anyone given the amount of information needed to do your job correctly. Management constantly was changing direction but would not provide support against bank channel partners when things went sideways. Annual layoffs caused stress throughout the organization whether you had a reason to be concerned or not. No proper performance reviews were conducted, Just an obligatory fill out the form and a "you're doing great" from whatever manager was standing in at the time. Because of this, there were no salary raises or areas identified as ways to grow. Any request for career advancement went ignored.
