Pros
Some of the best human beings on the planet. The office is usually casual dress, which is so nice when you're working extended hours (as required in this industry). Full business attire when meeting with clients, conducting research, or going to court. The principals are far more supportive and accommodating of employees than the typical small business environment can usually afford. You will learn so much working here - and from some of the best in the business! They try to keep the work steady but not overwhelming so. Very high standards for work product (which I think is a big pro!)
Kontras
The costs of doing business in downtown San Francisco means that salaries are not the highest in the industry. That said, they go after top talent, so working with a great team for a little less money can be very much worth it. My longest shift was 36 hours straight. That's not typical, but when you're on a small, dedicated team, the reality is that you gotta do what you gotta do to get the work done, meet the deadlines, and keep the clients happy. Expect to work nights and weekends. Work/life balance can be an issue, which is typical in this industry. Over the years, there were times when I felt undervalued, but this was usually balanced out in the end.
