They started finding any excuse to terminate as much as their staff as they could. Things were already becoming insufferable with the increase in micromanagement and the removal of benefits (removing covid protections, limited PTO, penalized for tech issues or bathroom breaks), and HR doesn't protect against really petty staff when they don't like how they were talked to and will start rumors that put others careers in danger at times.
