I was here for many years and the company changed a lot during that time. I was part of the 40% RIF in February 2026. Things started out great. Working here felt like having a positive impact on the world while also having great compensation and being close to the Bay Area tech scene. We stayed remote-first even after the pandemic ended. I still felt connected to my teammates despite not always being in the same country let alone time zone. There were a lot of growth opportunities and good support structures in place. If you wanted to switch teams for new opportunities, there was an internal job board to help facilitate that. I learned so much during my time here and got the chance to work with so many intelligent, knowledgeable people and I am very thankful for it.

There has been a lot less focus on the customers since around mid-late 2025. All we ever heard from senior engineering leadership after that was about using AI to boost "productivity". It felt like a betrayal of the original values and was very demoralizing. It felt like leadership didn't have a real plan.
