I recently had the misfortune of working with biosensics, and my experience can only be described as a complete Orwellian nightmare. The promises made by the CEO, Ashkan Vaziri, turned out to be nothing more than empty words, and I feel compelled to share my ordeal to prevent others from falling into the same trap. I was lured in with the promise of a position in product management leadership, a role I was enthusiastic about. However, upon joining the company, it became immediately clear that Ashkan had no understanding of how to run a business and that my role was not remotely close to what I had been promised. I was promised that I would be the head of a department, which I would grow over time. Instead of working in product management, I was relegated to a glorified assistant, and rather than growing out a team, I was forced to do all of the work of the department with no support from . Not only was the position misrepresented, but I was also coerced into relocating across the country for the role, only to discover that the responsibilities were vastly different from what was initially promised. Ashkan used deceptive tactics to defraud me into believing I would be leading product management at the company, which never materialized. To add insult to injury, Ashkan exploited my personal resources by forcing me to use my own LinkedIn account to send cold messages to my network, without any compensation for the credits used, or any consideration for the personal cost of spamming people in my network, many of whom asked me in person to stop. This unethical practice is inexcusable. I will also mention that during my time at the company, on multiple occasions, past employees had reached out to me and warn me about Ashkans pushy, aggressive, and abusive behaviors. I should have listened and in retrospect, it was clear that this was going to be an abusive relationship. When I voiced my concerns and dissatisfaction, Ashkan displayed a strong disdain and attitude, dismissing any opinions that did not align with his own. He is more concerned with looking smart than learning from anyone with experience, likley a byproduct of a career academic who has survived on government grants, and not by offering any real product or service of value to customers. The working environment became increasingly toxic, and my voice was silenced. The VPs of the companies have no say in any matters - their own or otherwise - and colluded to ensure that I would not be successful at the company. Ultimately, Ashkan terminated my employment without explanation or remorse, nor any attempt to reconcile these differences. Shockingly, he attempted to justify this decision by suggesting that the partial coverage of moving costs equated to fair compensation, despite covering less than half of the actual moving expenses. Needless to say, he did not offer to cover return relocation costs. My experience at this company was a complete betrayal of trust and a clear demonstration of unethical business practices. I would strongly caution anyone considering a position at this company to think twice before taking the plunge. Ashkan appears more interested in manipulation and deception than in running a legitimate business. In conclusion, my time at biosensics was marked by deceit, manipulation, and an abusive work environment. I hope my review serves as a warning to potential employees and a call for accountability within this organization.
