Close to home. The people I worked with were very good , the people I worked for were subpar. Management did not seem to care about us as employees.

Employee surveys were not used to improve working conditions. Poor management led to low morale, and high turn over. My original director lied to me, and then when I went to H.R. concerning my grievance, the director lied to them. In a period of less then 6 months 6 out of 14 of my team resigned and went elsewhere. That should have raised a red flag for management but they did nothing. I changed departments, but the director was no better. I would have worked longer, but when I turned 65, I retired, rather than put up with a situation that was not going to change. There was a staff survey 1 year before I left, and our department scored low on management issues, but nothing changed. I have talked to some of my old team members, and they say nothing has changed, high turnover and low morale.
