Good pay and benefits. Talented, conscientious coworkers. Excellent 401k matching. Opportunities to do really good work and help people with products.

Kontras

Upper management provides little direction, changes strategy constantly without explanation, and holds the threat of layoffs over your head nearly all the time. It's a typical, large multinational corporation... reorganizations are a consistent reality. As a German company, hierarchy is important - this is not a flat organization or an empowering one.

Bayer sounds great - "health for all, hunger for none". and "dynamic shared ownership". There are some truly amazing people working at Bayer.

Kontras

But it's "health for all, hunger for none" and "dynamic shared ownership" are bogus. So many people who embraced DSO were let go for voicing their opinions. The toxic leaders made the decisions, and the organization was not truly ready for Bill Anderson's call to action. It's profits first, not people. I believed - but it saddens me to write that I was wrong.
