Pros
They have a remarkably empathetic community. They are invested in families, both for students and faculty. Their warmth and care is sincere. You will be taken care of as a part of the faculty, and there are many involved in the administration side who care deeply for and make accommodations for you if you need help personally and professionally.
Kontras
There is a push from the top down for the arts in order to see results based on student interest. It not being an art school makes student interest dependent on teachers. This hurts the department when many students already have impressions of the arts and there aren't enough electives to facilitate varied interests to begin with. You often have very apathetic students keeping that perspective and then the administration has a skewed perspective of the arts based on student feedback.
