Pros

Small company that tries to give employees perks when they can, acknowledges accomplishments, most people are friendly and helpful. Working as a part of a team helps the work-load.

Kontras

Like any job, the people can make or break it. While there were a lot of great people, I did experience someone over a decade older than me bullying me, and trying to get me fired over a medical condition. Because of their friendship with management, my issues were overlooked and I was punished for having a medical condition. Pay was fairly low for the amount of work that had to be done.

Pros

An opportunity to learn the subscription business inside and out.

Kontras

After I went to my interview, I mentioned to an acquaintance that I had interviewed at Basch. She told me a friend of hers had recently left there and told them that she was moving to another country to avoid and drama or having to see anyone there again because she had had such a horrible time. I needed a job, so I didn't listen. I worked there for several years, and I would not recommend Basch to anyone. Obviously, this is one opinion - but one that is shared by many people - but I found that hard work is only rewarded with more work, the pay is ridiculously low, and there is no accountability for laziness or shoddy work. Rather, the hard workers make up for any issues caused by others. The employee turnover is astounding; I personally saw at least 40 people come and go during my years. Management was more concerned with getting new business than keeping loyal clients or fixing problems. Computer issues were rampant, with no real effort seeming to be made to fix any of them. Training was completely inadequate, though I will say that it is a complex business that does take time to get familiarity with. Favoritism was a huge problem as well. Wage increases were few and very far between, even with overwhelmingly positive reviews. Most of the people there were so unhappy that it was almost palpable. I am in touch with several ex-employees who all feel this same way, so it is not just a single opinion. I rarely regret my choices as everything is a learning experience, and I did acquire useful knowledge of the industry as well as meeting some great people, but I would not advise anyone to take a job at Basch if they are looking for good pay, appreciation for good work, or a positive work environment.
