Pros
Honest about horribly boring work with out-of-date technology.
Kontras
My experience: everything is overstated. Work from home but office time increasingly pushed; office is either the owner's messy multi-occupant apartment in Jersey City with no parking, or a rented small house in Portland (they have no real "office", check their website, the office number is a paid voicemail box and was essentially forgotten). Paid health care options are mediocre, no vision or dental. Pay is well below market in any tech center. Owner/CEO and founder openly state they post jobs they're not actively hiring for. "We don't micromanage," but literally every single minute of your day has to be accounted for and explained in detail, and it's all reviewed every single week. Get any computer you want, but select a Mac and you're responsible for all repairs, any time or out-of-pocket used to get up and running is unpaid as a matter of policy, then you have to buy it if you leave, whether quit or fired. Transparency but only in reporting earning numbers, culture is very cliquish and narrow, engineers can be extremely territorial, offline private complaining is common and can lead to no-look termination. Strange once-monthly pay schedule with internally managed sliding dates. Clear cultural bias, "too East Coast" used liberally. Talk about expanding and competing for bigger contracts, but seems unlikely with general we-hate-corporate hipster attitude and overall dated skillset portfolio. Side-channel legacy maintenance work using older tech is a primary revenue channel and propagates outdated (or lack of) any kind of current-day development standards. Lack of negative reviews involves being paid to sign a strict non-disparagement agreement when leaving the company, the positive reviews here are the usual niche. Clients can sing your praises and all your numbers can be fine, doesn't matter. If a couple of them don't like the way you come off in their chat application for any reason no matter how vague, you'll be gone without notice or any detail whatsoever.
