Pros
Can work on some interesting projects covering a variety of different technologies. Very good for a graduate who doesnt know what to focus on in their career as they get a chance to experience different roles. Free kit kats, custard creams and soft drinks, whoop!
Kontras
- There are quite a lot of people that think they are better than the rest and strive for promotion too quickly, get promoted, think they are EVEN better and then lead to low morale in projects and a struggle to hit timescales leading to expected overtime work. - Management seem like yes men, selling products and then throwing people into roles that they are not suited for seeing if you sink or swim. - There is supposed to be career development but you can be placed on your own on projects you have no skills in which adversly affect your career even though you have spoken to management about where you want to be - Not as suitable for people with 5+ years experience that want to focus on a particular skill, usually forced down management or architecture route, but this is going to change. - Usual review round BS that you have to carry out.
